After the announcement earlier this week that Alexander Albon had separated from Nissan e.dams to move to Formula One with Toro Rosso; Nissan have announced his replacement.
Oliver Rowland has already stood in for Albon in the Valencia test while Albon’s contract was negotiated. Rowland has raced in Formula E before when he stood in for an injured Nick Heidfeld in Season 2.
“The Formula E championship features some of the best drivers in the world, and it’s an honor to be selected by Nissan e.dams to represent them in season five,” said former F2 DAMS driver Rowland.
“To be able to work alongside Sebastien is also an incredible opportunity. I’m looking forward to challenging myself against the best of the best in Formula E.”
Mitsunori Takaboshi was confirmed as the teams test and reserve driver while Jann Mardenborough was confirmed as their simulator driver.
