A couple of weeks ago it was announced that Formula E races would be available to stream on YouTube in an innovative way. There will be a regular commentator alongside celebrity guests in a bid to open to new audiences.
Today it has been announced that BBC iPlayer and BBC Red Button will also show every race of the 5th season of the ABB FIA Formula E championship with some races showing on BBC TV.
Ali Russell, Media & Business Development Director – “It’s imperative that Formula E remained on a free-to-air network in such an important territory and key market for motorsport.”
“What better place to showcase some of the best and most competitive racing than on the BBC. We’re fully-charged and ready for the new season on the streets of the most recognisable cities – and this year promises to be more intense and unpredictable than ever.”
While Formula One enters it’s final race as free to air on live tv Formula E is branching out to multiple platforms to make their show accessible and free.
The first race of the season will take place in Saudi Arabia on December 15th and with it’s new Gen2 cars and stellar driver lineup it is set to be it’s best season yet.
